Research Analyst/ Consultant, Facilities & Venues

The Sports Consultancy is looking for a Research Analyst and a Consultant to join its Facilities & Venues Team. (Please indicate which role you are applying for in your cover letter)

Working on behalf of governing bodies, public sector organisations, universities and clubs, we help our clients make decisions in relation to the delivery of a range of facilities, management operations, events and strategies in the UK and worldwide

The roles (your suitability for either role will depend on your relative experience):

  1. Predominantly client-facing, working within the Facilities & Venues Team
  2. Supports Directors to design and produce high quality deliverables to meet client needs
  3. Takes direct day-to-day responsibility for project managing engagements ensuring projects are delivered on time and in scope
  4. Designs and creates content with an appropriate level of support, ensuring all deliverables are visually appealing and professionally executed
  5. Uses numeric analytical skills to process large volumes of data and identify trends and opportunities
  6. Creates financial business plans to support investment decisions for sporting infrastructure
  7. Thinks creatively and innovatively to present information to clients in an accessible manner
  8. Comfortable presenting information in person and facilitating client discussion
  9. In relation to the Consultant role only: manages junior team members (analysts and interns) and provides clear feedback to improve and enhance their work, including proactive coaching and mentoring

The role will be rewarded with a competitive salary, commensurate with experience, and 25 days holiday per annum.

Whilst this role is based in our London office, we have clients across the globe and some travel is required. We operate a hybrid and flexible working model, with typically 3 days in the London office per week.

Desired Skills and Experience

Experience required:

  1. For the Consultant role: at least two years experience working within a role relevant to our requirements
  2. For the Research Analyst role: no experience necessary, although a strong interest in sports is essential
  3. Appreciation / understanding of the sports industry, trends and opportunities
  4. Strong Excel skills
  5. Ability to create high quality deliverables that are well structured, insight-led, robust and accurate
  6. Ability to think creatively about client problems
  7. Demonstrable client-facing experience and ability to develop strong relationships with clients
  8. Excellent written and verbal communication skills including report-writing, presentations and workshop facilitation
  9. Good working knowledge of core MS Office software (including PowerPoint and Excel)
  10. Ability to work collaboratively within a team
  11. Educated to graduate / post graduate level
