The reality of the economic climate is being felt by football clubs in the top leagues as at least 20 clubs in the Premier League and Championship are on the hunt for new sponsors to adorn the front of their shirts.
Whilst clubs at the top are unlikely to suffer, with sponsors lining up to sign multi million pound cheques in return for guaranteed live TV exposure, those in lower positions are likely to struggle to generate the revenues which have contributed to deals worth an estimated £100million per year to English Football.
