Construction Work Begins on the New Batchwood Sports Centre
Construction work begins on the new Batchwood Sports Centre. The new centre is part of an ambitious, district-wide, strategy of sports facility improvements. It will result in the development of a state of the art centre which will include 6 indoor tennis courts (LTA regional performance centre) 3 outdoor tennis courts, a health and fitness studio and a purpose built martial arts dojo/combat room. The new Batchwood Sports Centre will be an East of England regional centre of excellence for tennis and will attract top athletes.
The Sports Consultancy completed a detailed business plan for the redevelopment of the Centre in St Albans. The Sports Consultancy’s business planning work formed a key element of the successful funding application to Sport England under the Iconic Facilities funding programme. The project is also supported and funded by the LTA and British Judo.
