Greater Anglia has become the latest supplier of the World Para Athletics Championships London 2017. The train operator will provide advertising sites to promote and advertise the World Para Athletics Championships to thousands of passengers using train services every day throughout East Anglia and the east of England.
The company also becomes the official rail provider for the Championships, which take place at the London Stadium from 14 to 23 July.
It provides intercity, commuter and rural services throughout the region including the Stansted Express service. Greater Anglia’s Stratford station is very convenient for sports fans planning to visit the Championships, just minutes away from the stadium.
Niels de Vos, Championship director for the World Para Athletics Championships London 2017 said “We are delighted to have Great Anglia on board as a sponsor providing us with such a fantastic opportunity to promote the Championships to all their thousands of customers every day as they travel in and out of London. The Championships will be here in just a few weeks and excitement and interest is mounting with world class para athletes from across the globe coming to compete. We want the public to be aware of and experience the first of two spectacular athletics championships coming to London this summer.”
Andy Camp, Commercial Director of Greater Anglia, said: “We’re really excited to be the official rail provider for the World Para Athletics Championships. We still remember the thrill of the London Paralympics – let’s hope we can recreate that again. People will be able to take advantage of our great value fares to have a brilliant day out at the stadium.”
This year will bring together more than 3000 world-class athletes from more than 200 countries, who will compete in 30 sessions across 20 jam-packed and action-fueled days as both the World Para Athletics Championships (14-23 July) and IAAF World Championships London 2017 (04-13 August) are hosted in London this summer.
