Co-founder and Managing Director of The Sports Consultancy, Robert Datnow played a pivotal role in Host City’s Bid to Win conference this week in moderating the lively panel debate on evaluating bidding and hosting.

With panellists including Iain Edmondson, Head of Major Events, London & Partners; Mario Andrada, Executive Director, Communications, Rio 2016; Janez Kocijancic, Vice President, International Ski Federation and Sir Martin Sorrell, CEO, WPP Group plc the debate covered a range of areas and prompted interesting comment.

On being asked by Datnow his answer to the critics who say that Rio will not be ready in time, Andrada commented, “There is not a chance in the world that Rio will not be ready venue wise, the construction of the Barra Olympic park is coming off the ground and the whole Olympic village will be ready around mid-2015.”

Host City’s inaugural Bid to Win conference was hosted in London.
