Official opening of new Flitwick Leisure Centre. The new Flitwick Leisure Centre was given an official seal of approval when officials and guests attended its official opening ceremony last week. The new £14.7m centre is adjacent to the old building on the Steppingley Road and opened its doors in February. It has experienced a huge surge in user numbers with circa 80,000 visits per month so far, compared to around 25,000 at the old centre. The project is part of a £40million Central Bedfordshire Council investment to support active lifestyles and contribute towards its public health priorities. The Sports Consultancy completed the financial business case for the project and assisted the Council in contract negotiations with the operator (Stevenage Leisure Ltd). We are currently advising the Council on the £20m redevelopment of Dunstable Leisure Centre.
