The countries bidding to host women’s golf’s Solheim Cup in 2015 are set to learn shortly whether they have been successful in winning the right to stage the biennial team contest between Europe and USA.

As the 2011 Solheim Cup took place at Killeen Castle in County Meath, Ireland at the weekend, the bidders for the next event to be held in Europe were anxiously waiting to learn their fate.

The Ladies European Tour is expected to make a decision following this year’s event, which ended in a 15-13 victory for Europe, and courses in the major golf markets of England, Spain and Germany are among those in contention, with no clear favourite having emerged.
