The Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) has put together a joint bid for the 2018 World Cup Finals jointly with Portugal.
They will bid for both the 2018 and 2022 events by virtue of the rule allowing candidates who fail in one bid to carry over simultaneously to the next event.
Other bid candidates include Australia, Holland and Belgium, England, Qatar and Russia with the US, Mexico, Canada, China and Japan expressing an interest.
