SPORT ENGLAND FUNDING SECURED FOR COMMUNITY PROJECTS

Chris Marriott and Tom Pinnington of The Sports Consultancy recently gave their time and expertise to support two primary schools in completing funding applications to Sport England’s Primary Spaces programme. The £18m fund is supporting the improvement of primary school sports facilities. It is part of the UK Government’s commitment to delivering a sporting legacy, following the success of London 2012.

The two applications, for St Cuthbert Mayne Roman Catholic Primary School (Cranleigh) and St Nicholas Primary School (Harpenden), have been successful . Both will receive the maximum grant of £30,000.

Tom Pinnington commented, “It’s great for us to be able to use our experience in securing project funding for the benefit of local primary schools. The funding will significantly improve the quality of the outdoor sports areas, providing a much more attractive and stimulating environment. This will encourage children to take part in sport and physical activity from an early age, establishing patterns of lifelong involvement. We look forward to offering the schools further support, as they complete the improvements over the coming months”.
