25th April 2018; London, UK: The Sports Consultancy is delighted to announce the successful conclusion of its appointment by EPCR to secure broadcast distribution for non-domestic, rest of the world markets. The Sports Consultancy’s work included working alongside EPCR to define the market engagement strategy and management and negotiation of the international broadcast distribution agreements for the European Rugby Champions Cup and Challenge Cup for a four-year period, starting in the 2018/19 season.

In collaboration with EPCR, The Sports Consultancy’s rights marketing consulting and legal teams were central in creating and managing a highly competitive tender process which engaged a range of well-known international agencies and national and regional broadcasters form around the world. The resulting deals, a ground-breaking international broadcast partnership with RDA and agreement with NBC Sports for the USA, have successfully delivered against EPCR’s commercial ambition and strategic objective to maximise the reach and engagement of EPCR’s flagship tournament, the Champions Cup.

Commenting on the successful conclusion of the project, The Sports Consultancy’s General Counsel and Partner at The Sports Consultancy Legal, Ashley Blake said:
