The brief:

To develop a strategy for Oman to develop year-round and event-specific sports related tourism. This work aligned with Oman’s ambition to diversify its sources of GDP away from natural resource reliance by developing further its tourism industry.

Our role:

TSC created the Sultanate’s first cycle-tourism strategy, a priority opportunity due to the extraordinary growth in the cycle-tourism market, the ability to leverage Oman’s rich natural resources and its strong alignment with growing trends in adventure and ecological tourism.  As a result of this, TSC held a long-term strategic advisory role engagement across Oman’s portfolio of sports related initiatives and events.

The result:

It is anticipated that the realisation of the cycle-tourism strategy alone will be worth in excess of $500m to the Sultanate of Oman. In the short term, Oman has developed its existing assets and procured a number of new cycle event assets for the Sultanate.
