Delivery of feasibility studies and financial business cases for 5 leisure centre developments over the past five years, linked to investment of more than £50m.

Our Brief:
To provide detailed business planning and feasibility support to St Albans District Council, to facilitate the re-development of all major Council owned community sport and leisure facilities across the district.

Our Role:Our role was to work closely with the Council’s officer team, other consultants and stakeholders to provide feasibility and business planning advice throughout the feasibility stage of work.

The Results:
Over £50 million has been invested by the Council following completion of the 5 major capital project. The new community leisure facilities have been developed to deliver against the identified needs of the local community while also improving the commercial viability of the Council’s leisure portfolio. The transformation in the revenue performance of the sport and leisure portfolio has resulted in the majority of capital funding being generated from revenue improvement, via prudential borrowing.
