The Sports Consultancy is delighted to have been appointed by The International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF) to support the federation on a wide-ranging brief that follows the recent approval of their governance structure reforms.

The Sports Consultancy’s consulting, legal and governance business teams will work closely with the IAAF across their portfolio of major events to professionalise, optimise and evolve the federation’s approach to engaging and securing event hosts. This work will include the design and production of live economic impact assessments, the review and rationalisation of host city requirements and the re-design and implementation of host city bidding processes and associated bidding documentation. The aim is to simplify the bidding process, embed transparency and good governance and enhance the value IAAF events deliver to their hosts.

Robert Datnow, co-founder and joint managing director of The Sports Consultancy commented: “We are excited to be working with the IAAF to apply our track record, built up over the past decade with numerous sporting organisations, in this specialist and evolving area of forming relationships with major event hosts and governance reform.”
