THE BRIEF
To professionalise the IAAF’s approach to procuring hosts for its largest global events. TSC has supported the IAAF by conducting economic impact assessments of its World Championship events, which will continue for the 2020 – 2023 event portfolio.
OUR ROLE
TSC created a new approach to host engagement, developing new value propositions that evidence the benefits IAAF events deliver to hosts. In addition, we delivered a series of economic impact studies (including the London 2017 and Doha 2019 World Championships) to capture data-led proof of the tangible impact IAAF events deliver. In addition, our Legal team has fully re-designed and updated the host nation contract structure.
THE RESULT
The new approach and collateral has been used for the first time in February 2017 when the IAAF launched the process to secure hosts for its 2020 events.
